Prep for the heat

Don’t spend your summer sun-burned and dehydrated! As the days get longer and hotter it’s time to start preparing.

Here are a few tips to keep you cool, calm and collected all summer long.

Tip #1: Drink at least 80 ounces of water every day. Your body needs a constant supply of water to keep you from dehydrating and not just on the days you’re in the sun. Bonus: the more water you drink, the less bloated you are, and the better your summer clothes and water gear fit.

Tip #2: Take cover from the sun as much as you can. Stay indoors where there’s cool air, or use an umbrella to provide shade wherever you go. This will help to prevent heatstroke, sunburn, and dehydration.

Tip #3: Use sunscreen - even when it’s cloudy. Sunscreen helps to prevent sunburn and protects your body from harmful UV rays that can contribute to skin cancer. Always be sure to reapply when being exposed to the sun for a long period of time, or while enjoying water activities.

Lastly, pay very close attention to your children, the elderly, and pets as the summer heat rises. They are more susceptible to heat related issues so it is best to monitor and/or limit their exposure to heat and the sun.

We hope you and your family have a blast this summer and can't wait to hear all about your adventures!!! If you rather sweat from a great workout all summer long, let's get you scheduled for a consultation right away.
